The rubbus lamp was designed as a tribute to the classic hanging light bulb at the beginning of the LED epoch. This is reflected in the minimal design, with only geometric cutouts ornamenting the cord and silicone cone.
Silicone was the ideal material to cast the lamp in. Its high temperature resistance prevents it from changing color, and the soft, flexible texture makes it a safe fixture to use in areas with high footfall or prone to accidents.
